Robert L. Richards (Bob) 75 passed away on December 27th, 2023, after a four-year battle with cancer. He was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia to the late Homer and Eva Joan (Carr) Richards.

He is preceded in death by his wife Judy (Draper) Richards.

He is survived by the love of his life for the past 24 years, Karen Arbogast McKown, son Robert A. (Valerie) Richards of Zanesville Ohio. Stepsons Bill, Charles, Shane, and Chad Jones of Texas and David McKown of Coventry Township Ohio. Siblings Betty Jo (Rick) Miller of Parkersburg West Virginia, Ron (Brenda) of Steelville Missouri, and Don (Sandy) of Coolville Ohio, Half Sibling Marly (Gerhard) Rompell, of Germany. As well as his second family Ernestine and the late Delmar Arbogast, Chris (Tommy) Parker, Pam and the late Terry Arbogast, Darlene (Bruce) Eastin, Donna (Frank Genet) Arbogast and his special girls Pixie and Dixie.

Bob served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and served in Germany. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Bob was an avid camper and loved to travel the United States. People couldn’t be with him without him telling a joke. He loved his trips to Missouri to trout fish with Dave and Joyce Robinson. He loved to collect anything that reminded him of his childhood. Everyone who knew Bob came to love him.

Special thanks to Frank Genet for fulfilling his dream of going to Key West. Jim Conley for always being there for Bob when he needed anything. Terry Cottrell, our special neighbor who has always been there.

Our thanks goes out to Crossroads Hospice/Palliative Care for your wonderful care of Bob.

Cremation has taken place, and the family will be having a celebration of life in early April.
