Ronald Della-Serra, 70, passed away on February 26, 2026. A lifelong Akron resident born on September 11, 1955, to Nicholas and Clara Della-Serra, he was known to family and friends as Ronnie.
He was first and foremost an identical twin to his brother, Donald (Donnie), who passed away when they were 18 years old. Ronnie graduated from Garfield High School in 1973, where he and Donald served as mascots for their older brothers’ football team. In 1982, he graduated from the United Electronics Institute and spent the majority of his career as an Electronics Technician for Ohio Business Machines, where he earned numerous awards for outstanding service.
A die-hard Cleveland sports fan, Ronnie was always in gear on game day. He also enjoyed music, politics, electronics, and cooking—especially his Italian sausage and red sauce. Ronnie married the love of his life, Ellen (Dean) Della-Serra, on January 15, 1993, and though they divorced, they remained close friends.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Donald and Marion (Mario). He is survived by the light of his life: his only daughter, Brittany Kokal, and her husband, Tyler. He also leaves behind his brothers, Gary, Richard (Ruth), and Michael; his niece, Angela (Nick) Cardarelli and their two children; the Munro family; and many cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, 1034 Brown Street, Akron, on March 14th at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends for visitation 15 minutes prior to the service. Following the Mass, Ronnie will be laid to rest at the family gravesite at Holy Cross Cemetery, 100 East Waterloo Road, Akron.
A celebration of life will follow; guests are encouraged to wear their favorite sports gear and join in a toast to Ronnie’s memory.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home 330-535-9186.
