Rosemary Castner 84 of Akron gained her Angel wings. She was in good health but passed away suddenly June 4, 2026. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years David L Castner she leaves behind a lifetime of happy memories and stories with anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting her. She was a very proud mother of four children, David Castner of Akron, Edward Castner and his wife Melissa, Joseph Castner, and his wife, Lois and Donna Castner and her husband Jason Lowe and she was a very proud Grandma to 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was born to Italian American immigrants and was very proud of her Calabrese heritage. She grew up on a farm in Medina with her mother and brothers all proceeded in death she loved playing with the goats and sitting under the weeping willow trees, watching the clouds with her brother Vern. She attended Grange Sharon elementary school and graduated from Saint Francis Xavier elementary school in Medina Ohio after the untimely death of her mother when she was 14, she moved in with her aunt Julia in North Hill Akron there she attended North high school and graduated as a Viking in 1960. She worked for St. Vincent elementary school as a cafeteria. Cook in the 1990s during that time she volunteered for the Akron soapbox Derby as head of concessions and member of the Board of Directors for the Akron local race after that she was a food court supervisor at Chapel Hill Mall in Akron there she loved meeting new people every day and her beloved coworkers. In her later years she enjoyed volunteering for the food pantry at Journey church in Cuyahoga Falls there she met an extended family and loved going to church events. Rosemarie Castner was a joy to be around, she cherished her family more than anything in this world. She was full of laughter and excitement, and had a bigger personality than her short stature frame could hold. She loved to call people, Tootsie or honey. She will be greatly missed for her loving and caring attitude, her jokes and her quick wit humor and her huge hugs that always came with and I love you mom you will be greatly missed. Entombment will be on Tuesday June 16th at 12:00pm. Holy Cross Cemetery Akron
