Thelma M. Brettschneider (nee Willis), 94, went home to be with the Lord on March 22, 2026. She was born September 3, 1931 in Altoona, Pa. to the late John & Grace Willis. She was preceded in death by daughter Karen Crouch, brothers Marion & Wilmer and sisters Irene Curry, Melba Walker & Betty Shultzaberger. Thelma is survived by two children, Wm. R. Brettschneider II & Eric (Linda) Brettschneider. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Matthew Crouch, Karla (David) Kopko & one great-grandchild, Ethan Kopko & many nieces & nephews. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren, eleven step-great-grandchildren & many friends. After serving as an accountant for many years she retired to be a caregiver for a very special friend. During her working years she also volunteered with animal rescue groups. She loved all animals, especially cats & leaves behind two of them, Tiger Lily & Yoder. Thelma was a member of Maranatha Bible Church. She loved her church & was especially interested in Missionary Outreach. Visitation will be April 2nd from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Adams-Mason Memorial Chapel 791 E. Market St, Akron, OH. The celebration of life service will take place on April 3rd at 10:00 AM at Adams-Mason. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Maranatha Bible Church Missionary Program, 1424 Killian Rd., Akron, OH 44319, or to any no-kill animal charity.
