Umberto Pietro Antonio Artuso

Umberto Pietro Antonio Artuso, 64, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 26, 2026, at Southwest General Health Center in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. He was born on July 25, 1961, in Ethiopia, Africa.

Umberto was a man of humor, heart, and deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures…especially food. He had a special relationship with a good meal; when he sat down to eat, he was fully present, savoring every bite. Cooking was one of the ways he showed love. His Sugo and Zigni were unmatched, and the meals he prepared created memories that will live on in the hearts of those who shared his table.

He worked at General Electric and took pride in being a skilled and capable craftsman in his earlier days. He also had a lifelong passion for gardening and horticulture, finding joy in growing and tending to plants. In his younger years, he loved playing basketball and remained a devoted fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Umberto pursued higher education at Bowling Green State University and also began studies toward becoming a registered nurse at Lakeland Community College, reflecting both his curiosity and his desire to build a meaningful life.

Above all, he was most proud of his children. He was the father of Rosetherese (Brian) Fox; Anthony; Alexis; Alyssa; Alyvia; Laura; and Niko Artuso, and the grandfather of Adam Artuso. He is also survived by his sister, Cathy (Mario) Desensi, and his brother, John Artuso.

A man of faith, Umberto believed in Jesus Christ, which guided his life in quiet but meaningful ways.

His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
