Vicki June Powell

May 11, 1949 — February 26, 2023

After a difficult battle with cancer, Vicki Powell passed away peacefully on February 26, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.

Vicki was born in Akron, Ohio 1949 to Russell & June Schuckert.  As an adult, Vicki was described as a strong, independent hard worker putting many years of employment in at Harbor Freight, Coventry.   Vicki was passionate about the Indians (Guardians) and the Cavs, spending most evenings watching the games with her grandson, Mason.   She was predeceased by her one true love Carl "Chops," Powell, as well as her mother, June Schuckert, father, Russell Schuckert, and her granddaughter Brooke (Keller) Drennen.

Vicki leaves behind daughters:  Alexis Duckett (John), Christina Miller (Keith), Andrea Keller, granddaughters and grandsons:  Victoria Swick (Tracy), Rusty Miller, Paige Sayers (Jon), Clarissa Duckett, Mason Bensinger, and great grandchildren:  Kennedy Schubert, Paisely Miller, Raina Swick, Charlotte Sayers, Hazel Sayers, and brothers Russell Schuckert Jr., David Schuckert (Lida), and Mathew Schuckert (Alicia).

Services will be held at Park United Methodist, 2308 24th St. SW Akron 44314, Wednesday March 1st.  Service will begin at 5 p.m. food and refreshments to follow.

Now reunited with her mother, we pull this quote from her Mom's yearly Memoirs written to Vicki 1958-1959:  "...no matter how bad the day would seem, when we kneeled down to pray, somehow the world seemed pretty wonderful.  But when things seem all wrong, and nothing seem right when you travel life's road Honey Babe, I'll meet you back at the St. Rose's down in the front row."

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to femalecancerfoundation.org
