Wendy Jo Lewis

Wendy Jo Lewis, age 65 of Akron, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 8, 2023, at home with her husband Walt.  Wendy was born on December 6, 1957, in Germany to the late Robert and Lynn Lewis.

She earned her bachelor's degree in art from Miami University in 1980 and later pursued an associate of applied science in electrical engineering technology in June of 1984. Wendy enjoyed a fulfilling career as a technical writer at Goodyear for the last decade of her life.

Wendy had a deep passion for art, expressing her creativity through quilting, stained glass, knitting, and painting. She spent cherished moments with friends engaging in artistic endeavors throughout her life. Wendy also had a green thumb and found joy in landscaping and gardening. She had a keen eye for beauty, appreciating flowers and nature. Her kind-heartedness extended to helping others with her talents.

Wendy had a mischievous side and enjoyed the occasional prank. During a campout with friends, she playfully swiped everyone's underwear and hung them high on a flagpole. Her friends fondly remember this playful side of Wendy.  She was also known for making awesome salads from items found in her yard.  Friends called her salads “sticks and bugs”…

Wendy is survived by her husband Walt Grandal; Daughter Lily Lenarduzzi (Mike Gomez); Siblings Dianne Shaffer-Lewis, Jack Lewis (Barbi) and LuLu Lewis; Step Daughters; Christine Potwora and Diane Houghton and Gandson; Daniel; Nieces and Nephews; Adam Shaffer, Tyler Shaffer, Kelsey Irwin, Chris Lewis, Megan Lewis & Molly Beilstein and their extended families.
