William (Mike) Michael England, age 79, made the journey to his heavenly home on January 16, 2026. Mike was born in Cullman, Alabama to the late William Howard and Maebelle (Kilgo) England.
Upon graduating from Cullman High School, Mike enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served in the Vietnam War before being honorably discharged in 1969.
The first half of Mike's life was spent with his first wife, Glenda (Brown) England, with whom he had three children and many happy years together.
The second half of his life was spent with his fiancée, Renae Nelson, and her daughter who he loved and raised as his own.
After his retirement from Greyhound Bus Lines, Mike proudly served as the Quartermaster of the Mogadore V.F.W. Post 8487 for many decades, where his commitment, dedication, and support of many clubs, organizations, and local departments will forever go unmatched. The friendships and bonds that were formed among Mike and his "brothers and sisters" at the Mogadore V.F.W. will never be broken, even in death. It was a true brotherhood that Mike cherished and never took for granted.
Mike enjoyed golfing, playing cards, watching Gunsmoke, going to the casino, and sharing a few cold beers with the guys. He was strong, stubborn, and opinionated at times, but he was also kind, fair, generous, loyal, and funny. Mike will forever be missed by all who knew him. Rest easy, soldier, we'll take it from here.
Mike is preceded in death by his mother and father, Maebelle and William England, infant daughter Michelle Lee, fiancée Renae Nelson, grandson William Michael England III, sisters Sybil, Mary Francis, Cora, Sandra, Wanda, Pamela, and Patricia.
Mike is survived by sister Glenda James, son William Michael England Jr., daughters Angela (Eric) Kinney, Amanda Nelson, and bonus daughter Tracy "MJ" (Alex) Church. Grandchildren Ashley, Richard, Ryan, Cassandra, Matthew, and Gavin. As well as six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of those who offered their time, love, and support. You know who you are.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home 330-535-9186.
