Springfield Township

William Lee Flory, age 77, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026. He was born on April 8, 1949, in Akron, Ohio.

Bill was the devoted husband of Lynn Flory, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and friendship. He was the loving father of Eric (Michele) Flory and Adam (Tiffany) Flory; proud grandfather of Morgan, McKenna, and Gage; beloved brother of Becky (Roger) Porter and Paul (Lori) Faix; brother-in-law of Gail (Gary) Stewart and Lew Kuhn (Kim Graham); and cherished uncle to many, including his nephew, Dr. Daniel Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Maxwell Flory and Ruby Lamm; his brothers, David Flory and Ted Faix; his sister, Betsy Faix; and his lifelong best friend, Craig Lytel.

In 1968, Bill proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a Reconnaissance Sharpshooter. His military service was one of the defining chapters of his life, and he carried immense pride in having served his country. Following his honorable service, Bill worked as a meat cutter for many years, earning the respect of coworkers and customers alike through his strong work ethic and dedication.

Faith played a central role in Bill’s life. He was a devoted and active member of Grace United Church of Christ in Uniontown for more than 50 years. He also enjoyed bringing history to life as a member of the 29th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Civil War reenactment group and generously volunteered his time with Pegasus Farm, a cause that was especially meaningful to him.

Bill and Lynn shared a love of adventure and spent many years taking motorcycle trips together. Among their favorite destinations were the Great Smoky Mountains, where they created countless treasured memories. At home, Bill enjoyed relaxing with a good Western on television and spending time with family and friends.

Bill will be remembered as an extraordinarily hardworking man with a mischievous sense of humor. A natural jokester, he loved making people laugh and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Friendly, outgoing, and never afraid to meet someone new, Bill had a gift for making people feel welcome. He seemed to know everyone, and those who knew him will remember his kindness, quick wit, and genuine enjoyment of life.

Service details will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pegasus Farm or Grace United Church of Christ in Uniontown in Bill’s memory.

Bill’s legacy of service, laughter, faith, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
