William was a devoted husband to Sharon Hobday, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. He was a proud father to William J., Jameson, Damon, and Ryan, and a loving brother to Andi Dye. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Holly, Summer, Hannah, Bailey, Jesse, Gavrella, Hayden, and Logan, and his great-grandchildren, Jase and Ira.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Anna Hobday, and his brothers, Robert and Jack.
William honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as both a paramedic and a paratrooper.
He was best known as the owner and operator of Hobday’s Quality Steaks, a business he ran for over 30 years, expanding to seven locations across Ohio. His strong work ethic and determination were evident throughout his life.
Later in life, William enjoyed many years alongside his wife Sharon in Port Charlotte, Florida, before returning home to be closer to his family.
He was a simple man who found joy in time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, always aiming to make them smile. He enjoyed time at the beach and made sure to keep a tan, even after returning to Ohio, something those who knew him will remember with a smile.
William will be remembered as a hardworking, devoted family man who always put those he loved first.
