Yoness Darnell Wilson, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, at the age of 54. He was born on August 10, 1971, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Larry Wilson and Joyce Bates. Yoness was a man whose presence lit up every room he entered, leaving an enduring mark on the minds of those fortunate enough to know him.
Aproud graduate of East Catholic High School in Detroit, Yoness possessed a quick wit and a warm smile that could brighten even the darkest of days. His natural sense of humor and ability to speak his mind freely earned him a reputation as a candid and spirited individual who was never afraid to express himself.
Known for his ability to lighten the mood with a well-timed joke. His candid nature, while at times blunt, was always rooted in a deep sense of love and honesty. He was a man of authenticity, never shying away from speaking his truth, and this honesty endeared him to many.
In the summer of 2024, Yoness married the love of his life, Delta Miles, on August 17th. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, companionship, and unwavering support.
Yoness has daughters, Jeannie Wilson, Myleatta Wilson, Yonesia Wilson and Dakara Miles. Seven grandchildren; Valdez Glenn, Carviyon Wilson, Michael Glenn, Kyyon Saine-Wilson, Hope Dudley-Wilson, Micco Dudley-Wilson, and Aiya Mulani Wilson.
Yoness is survived by his wife, Delta, his daughters, and his grandchildren. His siblings, Michael and Wanda Beard, Coleen Whitman, DeAngelo Bates, Larry and Sharron Miller, Kizmet Holmes, and Tyhecia Hoskins, and a host of family and friends who will forever cherish the memories they created together.
While his physical presence will be greatly missed, Yoness's spirit will live on in the memories of those who knew him. His legacy of love, humor, and authenticity will continue to inspire all who were touched by his life. Rest in peace, dear Yoness, knowing that you were truly loved and will never be forgotten.
